Synopsis

Eva Harker is a sharp-minded and strong-willed woman and one of a rare breed - a female investigative journalist. In an industry that shows no mercy for ageing women, Eva seeks a big story in the hopes of earning a respect that transcends her age and appearance.

Following a string of murders across Washington D.C., Eva is eventually led to an elite women’s cult that promises a respected place in society and regular doses of its mysterious ‘serum of eternal youth’ to members for demonstrating a true believer’s commitment to an ever-escalating set of dangerous challenges. As Eva’s investigations uncover a deep web of conspiracies, intrigue and murder that reach through all levels of society, she comes face to face with the mastermind behind the cult - Diana Vaughan - a precociously intelligent older woman. Vaughan promises that her ancient, preternatural technique can grant a powerful voice like Eva’s all that she wishes. Eva is faced with a difficult choice; does she risk everything to blow the lid off this murderous group in the hopes of scoring her Pulitzer, or does she join the cult and win a guaranteed power and position in society across all levels of society.
